National Championship League

NCL Requirements


The following items are requirements set by Water Polo Canada for participation in the National Championship League (NCL). These requirements apply to all age categories within the NCL. Each member type (athlete, coach, referee, etc) will have different requirements.

NCL Athlete Requirements:

  • Athletes under 16: 
    1. Competitive level registration in RAMP
    2. Water Polo Canada Consent Form (completed during the registration process)
    3. Abuse-Free Sport (OSIC) Participant Agreement (NEW 23-24 Season) *Note: If the player is under the age of majority, then a parent/guardian must complete it on their behalf.
  • Athletes 16+: 
    1. Competitive level registration in RAMP
    2. Water Polo Canada Consent Form (completed during the registration process)
    3. Abuse-Free Sport (OSIC) Participant Agreement (NEW 23-24 Season) *Note: If the player is under the age of majority, then a parent/guardian must complete it on their behalf.
    4. NCCP Safe Sport Training OR Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
    5. NCCP Diversity and Inclusion in Action
    6. NCCP Making Head Way in Sport (NEW 23-24 Season)

If you have not accessed your Sideline Learning account before, search your inbox for an email from info@sidelinelearning.com with your username and a temporary password to log in.

 

NCL Coach Requirements:

  • NEW 23-24 Season Safe Sport Courses for NCL Head and Assistant Coaches (deadline to compete is January 31st, 2024): 
    • NCCP Anti-Racism in Coaching (60-75min)
    • NCCP Understanding for Rule of Two (20 min)
    • Anti-Doping - CCES True Sport Clean Quiz (5 min) (Information portion 45min)
    • **Abuse-Free Sport (OSIC) (15min)** New as of April 1, 2024 *Note: If the coach is under the age of majority, then a parent/guardian must complete it on their behalf.

Water Polo Canada will be using Sideline Learning to track these requirements for all athletes, coaches, referees, etc. Members will have received an email from Sideline Learning with account information and direct links to all required courses.
